North Jersey Wild Browns

October 11, 2009 By: BlackLabel Category: Fly Fishing, NJ, Nick, Trout, Wild Trout

Having no one to fish with on Saturday, I decided to stay in the area and fish one of my favorite little rivers. The river has been very low but the little bit of rain we have had really helped the fishing pick up. I had a nice double digit day, the largest one was a fat 12 inch fish.  Almost all fish where caught Euro nymphing except for one I saw rising to BWOs.  All in all its was a fun day close to home.

The average brown from this river.

This one liked the Iso nymph.

Real pretty golden colored brown.

Best fish of the day, a fat 12” brown. Not a monster by any means, but a solid fish from this river.
