Water Walker Fly Fishing Lanyards
In the last year alone, I’ve accumulated a number of vests, jackets, chest packs, waist packs and back packs, all in an effort to increase efficiency and comfort on the water. When I first started fly fishing at the age of 13 or 14, my dad bought me my first fishing vest. I can remember now filling it with everything I could find. Flies of all types, weights, stringers, pliers, forceps, floatant, extra reels, you name it, I probably had it in my vest. I remember getting patches and sewing them on the vest for every state I had fished. Most grown men today would throw fits of jealous rage if they saw the badges of honor that adorned my childhood vest. Tastes change with age though, and I find myself forever trying to cut down the gear I carry, and simplify the way I carry it.

I recently purchased a pair of L.L.Bean Helix waders that have a huge zippered chest pocket that fits two medium c&f fly boxes easily. Now that I have my flies taken care of, I needed something for my tools. I searched the internet for anything that looked like it might fit the bill. Small waist packs, fishing shirts, and lanyards all seemed like something that could help, but nothing fit the bill perfectly. Some were too big, some impractical, and some almost what I wanted, but not quite. Then I stumbled across Water Walker Custom Fly Fishing Lanyards. Basically 5 minutes after searching Rick’s site, I had my custom order e-mailed. I told Rick what I was looking for, and within a day or two, he had the prototype built and ready for my approval. Rick’s service is definitely first class. He kept in contact with me throughout the order process and let me know exactly what was going on at all times. The morning I received the lanyard I took it out for it’s first field trial. To have all my tools and flies I needed for a day of fishing without wearing a vest or pack was a truly freeing feeling. The lanyard is made with top quality components, I even got an extra piece of foam in case I ever need to replace it. The lanyard size is fully adjustable and very comfortable. The placement of all the tools and tippets makes for a really functional addition to my gear on the water. Everything I need is at my disposal, without having to dig through my pack or vest. If you’re looking for a way to slim down your gear on the water, definitely take a look at Water Walker Lanyards. If he doesn’t have exactly what you want, just ask. That’s the best part of the whole thing, if it’s not exactly what you’re looking for, he’ll do what he can to make sure that it is. Thanks, Rick!
