International Fly Tying Symposium
I took a trip to the International Fly Tying Symposium on Saturday. Saw some great flies, met some great tiers, and picked up some new materials. I probably should have taken more pictures, and interviewed a few of the famous tiers, but I’m just not into those shows. Personally, I’d rather be fishing. I’m not saying I don’t have respect for what these guys can do with a hook and some thread, but I can only see so many flies before I’m thinking about wetting a line.
I forget the name of the tier that had this box of worms. She was cranking these bad boys out though. I hope you guys notice the price in this photo. Now check out Nick’s price. I wonder what she would pay for the Vladiworm.com web address?

2I thought the price was a bit steep myself! I should have given her Nick’s website. She could just buy them from Nick and do the old markup. HAHA

4I could but I hardly make anything off them anyway. I do it more for the guys who don’t tie because you can’t seem to buy them anywhere.

7Jamie- I overheard this lady say she started tying them back in ‘05. If so, she was certainly ahead of the curve. I wouldn’t be surprised if this lady new Vladi personally, if you know what I’m saying.
8Leslie was the tyer for Team USA. I am sure that she was making those worms long before the DVD came out. I only wanted to clarify that.
9Yeah, 2005 is what she said, which was a few years before that dvd. If she was a tier for team USA, I’m sure she knows about a lot of flies right now that we’ll all be talking about in a few years.
10I still just wish I had that many tied up.
